Baja Day 9
Santispec Beach to Loreto
It is another wonderful day on the road and once again the
scenery is breathtaking
We made it to Loreto Shores Campground. Full hook-ups. No need
to worry about solar power or batteries here. Nice
place to spend the night. A few barking dogs outside the campground and some
crowing roosters, but this was not new for us. Excellent WIFI.
These are permanent condos on the beach. The lot is rented and
the renters may add the condos or whatever they want to the site and when
they no longer want to rent they sell the value added to the land to the next
Downtown Loreto: we walked about a mile from our campground
This is the beginning of the tourist shopping district.
Notice the cobbled streets everywhere.
This is the "Mision Nuestra Senora de Loreto"
Casa de La Abuela
This piece is made up of beads glued on one at a time. It is
worth a few thousand dollars.
John decided to try on a Sombrero
The boardwalk on the Sea of Cortez. This goes on
We decided after a couple hours of wondering around Loreto it
was time to rest and have something to eat. We settled at the "Ole
Cafe". We each ordered a beer and Tacos de Pescado ( fish tacos). The cost
for out two meals was $15 with beers
We decided it was time to head back to the campground and it
was getting dark so we caught a taxi. The cost was $4 for the four of us
